The La Bonne Biere, the Paris café that was one of the six locations attacked by terrorists three weeks ago, reopened Friday in what marks a step back to normalcy for the city.

There were mixed feelings with the reopening, with some still raw about the attacks that left 130 dead and hundreds injured. According to Le Parisien, La Bonne Biere is the first of the targeted locations to reopen.

A banner over the café's awning read "Je Suis En Terrasse," or "I'm on the terrace," in defiance of the November attacks, according to NPR.

"I would like to thank everyone who has supported us for your poems, your messages and posts that have so helped us," café's manager Audrey Bily said, according to the BBC News. "We are going to start again, to bounce back.

"We have carried out some work and repainted the walls to wipe away the signs of this nightmare. The Bonne Biere cafe was a place where people meet and exchanged and shared. That is what we want it to be again today," she continued.

Paule Zlotnik, a nearby shopkeeper, told the BBC that he was pleased to see the café reopen.

"It's time they open and that we continue life as it was before," he said.

Flowers and candles still litter the pavement where the victims died during the attacks. Close-circuit cameras at La Bonne Biere show the chilly scene where two gunmen walked up to the cafe and opened fire at customers sitting on the terrace in November, according to BBC News.

"It is time for us to gather together again, united, and to go forward in order not to forget," the café owners said.
