Kurt Busch accepted NASCAR's terms for undoing his suspension on Monday, and will now follow an undisclosed reinstatement program created by a third-party consultant following an alleged domestic violence incident.

"We understand Kurt Busch has begun the process for reinstatement as a NASCAR member," Stewart-Haas Racing executive vice president Joe Custer said in a statement, ESPN reported.

"NASCAR has laid out its expectations for Kurt, and while there is no timetable to meet those expectations, Kurt's willingness to embrace the conditions set forth by NASCAR is a positive step that we support."

Busch was suspended Feb. 20 — two days before the Daytona 500 — after a Delaware family court commissioner granted a no-contact order on behalf of ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll, which bars him from coming within 100 yards of her.

Driscoll claims that Busch slammed her head into a wall inside his motorhome on Sept. 26, after they broke up. He denies the claim.

The Delaware attorney general's office has yet to announce if they will bring domestic violence charges against Busch.

Regan Smith has taken to driving the No. 41 car for Stewart-Haas Racing in Busch's absence.
