Krista Miller: Starlet Defends Hospital Tete-a-Tete With Drug Lord

Filipino starlet Krista Miller has been the subject of wild rumors after footage from security cameras showed her visiting convicted drug lord Ricardo Camata during his recent stay at a Manila hospital. She's now defending their tete-a-tete.

Originally unsure if it was her, Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III confirmed this week that the "fair-skinned woman" in the closed-circuit camera footage was indeed Miller after interviewing hospital guards, and even Camata himself, Yahoo Philippines reported.

Baraan stated that Miller's visit to the Metropolitan Hospital violated the terms of Camata's temporary stay in the hospital, as only family members were allowed to visit him. He said her presence is evidence of poor security, and possible corruption.

"They didn't even frisk her, they didn't write her name on the logbook. She didn't sign in or sign out," he told reporters. "Camata greeted her. He looked well. I thought he was supposed to be between life and death, but he looked stronger than a horse."

In response to Baraan's public confirmation that she stayed in Camata's hospital room for over an hour, Miller released a two-page statement on Friday claiming that her only business with Camata, the leader of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang, was related to real estate.

"I am not a bad woman. I sell real estate properties, I don't sell my body," part of her statement read.

According to The Manila Standard Today, the New Bilibid Prisons director Chief Supt. Fajardo Lansangan and 12 jail guards were suspended over the recent transferring of VIP inmates like Camata to hospitals. "Herbert Colangco and Amin Buratong, two other high-profile inmates at the NBP’s maximum security compound were [also] allowed to go to the private hospitals in May," the Standard reported.

Baraan, the justice who brought the charges, said "The hospital doctors will also be investigated."

As for Miller, she is no stranger to controversy. After filming 2013's "The Turning Cradle: The Untold Story of Alfredo Lim" with director Cesar Montano, she was accused by his ex-wife, actress Sunshine Cruz, of having an affair with him, and causing their break up, ending their 13-year marriage.

Miller denied the accusation, firing back at Cruz, "You can demean me all you like. Say whatever you want. At least now, I know I can handle myself."
