Kim Richards, star of Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," faces a possible two and a half years in jail after the Los Angeles County district attorney's office charged her with several crimes connected to her drunken outburst at the Beverly Hills Hotel a month ago.

Richards, 50, who appears on the reality show with her sister Kyle Richards, has been charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery of a cop, despite recently checking into a Malibu rehab facility, TMZ reported. The trouble started in the early morning hours of April 16 when Richards was booted from the hotel and accused of being drunk.

Beverly Hills police claim they had to forcibly remove Richards from a restroom and said she allegedly kicked an officer in the process, the celebrity gossip site noted.

"(Richards) unlawfully in a public place under the influence of intoxicating liquor, a drug, a controlled substance, toluene . . . in such a condition that [she] was unable to exercise care for [her] own safety and the safety of others," a police report said, according to "Entertainment Tonight."

Toluene is a liquid chemical that can be found in solvents and paint thinners, according to "ET."

People magazine reported on April 26 that Richards had entered rehab in response to the hotel incident.

"Kim went to rehab finally because she got arrested, she humiliated her kids, and she wants to avoid jail," a source told People last month. "If the arrest hadn't happened she wouldn't be going to rehab; it would be business as usual. She's in denial that she has a problem."

An anonymous friend told People that Richards, who has struggled with alcohol abuse for years, is currently under a lot of stress, which triggered the outburst.

"A big part of all of this is that she is just stressed out," the friend said, adding that Richards' ex-husband, Monty Brinson, is battling stage IV cancer. "She is under a lot of pressure, especially because of Monty."

Richards is a former child actress who starred in series like "Nanny and The Professor" and "Little House On The Prairie," along with the Disney movies "Escape to Witch Mountain" and "No Deposit, No Return," according to the Daily Mail.
