Pop singer Katy Perry told an Australian radio station this week that legendary Rolling Stones lead Mick Jagger hit on her when she 18 while working as a backup singer.

Katy Perry commented on the Mick Jagger encounter on a Nova radio network morning show in Australia, noting that she did background vocals for the Rolling Stones song "Old Habits Die Hard" for the 2004 Jude Law movie "Alfie."

"I actually went to dinner with (Mick Jagger), one time, and he hit on me when I was like 18," Perry, now 29, offered up about Jagger, who turned 70 in July.

When one of radio show's hosts asked how did she turn him down, Perry answered with a laugh, "well you bring a friend and then they do them. You sacrifice your friend."

Perry suggested to the radio station that Jagger's overture was one one-time incident and that the iconic Stones front man has been supportive of her career.

"That was a long time ago, and since then he's been very kind," Perry told the radio program. "I got to sing 'Beast of Burden' on stage with the Rolling Stones (in May)."

According to he New York Daily News, Jagger claimed the incident never happened through a spokesperson.

"(Jagger) categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry," a Jagger publicist told the Daily News. "Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else."

The Daily News reported that Perry was in Australia to promote her new album "Prism" on Australia’s version of "The X Factor."

Entertainment Weekly reported Wednesday that things are great for the singer's latest album, selling 286,000 units in its first week, per Nielsen's Soundscan. Entertainment Weekly said the sales are the best by a female artist this year, beating out Miley Cyrus' "Bangerz" by 16,000 copies.

Billboard magazine reported that the sales were good enough to debut "Prism" at No. 1 on its Hot 200 chart. Billboard said the album is Perry's second No. 1 and a huge sale's bump, following up on her 2010's "Teenage Dream," which opened with sales of 192,000 copies.
