Katherine Heigl responded to rumors that she is rude and hard to work with during a Facebook Q&A on Saturday that sought to promote her upcoming series, "State of Affairs," where she plays a CIA briefer.

"I've heard rumors that your very rude. What's your thoughts? [sic]" wrote one fan during the online discussion.

"Yeah I've heard those too ... honestly I don't think I am ... nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone's feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose," she wrote in response.

"Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to."

That answer seemed to please the inquiring fan, who said, "Nicely put. I've always enjoyed your work! Thank you for explaining yourself."

Last month "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes blasted Heigl in talking about her new show, "Scandal." Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter that the new show has a "no assholes" policy and that "there are no Heigls" in the cast.

Previous to that, the 35-year-old actress was criticized in a separate story by The Reporter in which several other show executives and producers had said Heigl's poor reputation had kept her from being selected for more movie roles.

Heigl's mother has also been publicly criticized in the past by show staffers who said she often verbally abused and mistreated those around her.
