Juliet Evancho, the transgender sister of Jackie Evancho, has won a preliminary injunction in a bathroom lawsuit against her Pennsylvania school in a ruling that comes just days after her singer sibling asked President Donald Trump to meet with the pair following his order on transgender bathroom protections.

Juliet Evancho, 18, joined with two other transgender students in suing a Pennsylvania school district for reportedly barring them from using the bathrooms of the genders in which they identify. On Monday, a federal judge issued a ruling to stand in place as the case gets worked out in court: Juliet and the other plaintiffs may use the bathrooms for their chosen genders, according to The Washington Post.

“This is wonderful news and a tremendous relief that we can now use the bathroom without feeling isolated and humiliated,” plaintiff Elissa Ridenour said in a statement on the ruling, which will take effect in March. “The past months have been incredibly stressful, and this was all so unnecessary. There was no problem before, and we are confident there will be no problem now.”

The three students used to be able to use the restroom for their chosen gender, but some parents in the district requested that the school board pass the "biological sex" bathroom policy in the fall, The Post noted.

Just days ago, Jackie Evancho, the 16-year-old opera sensation who performed at Trump's inauguration, took to Twitter to ask the commander-in-chief for another opportunity to meet him, but this time with a different agenda in mind.

Evancho wanted to discuss with Trump the struggles of the transgender community and asked if she could bring her sister Juliet along for the meeting.

The request for a meeting came after a letter from Trump's administration overturned former President Barack Obama’s guidance on transgender bathroom protections in public schools. Obama's guidance called for schools to allow transgender individuals to use the restrooms that match their gender identity.

Trump never did get back to Evancho on Twitter.
