Jordan Spieth had a run-in with what he called autograph-seeking "scums" after his practice golf round at Pebble Beach on Wednesday.

The two-time major tournament champion was referring to three men who were there after he fiished his 18-hole practice round for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, said the Washington Post.

As Spieth left the 18th green and walked toward fans in the gallery, he was approached by the professional autograph seekers, who he appeared to recognize.

He bypassed them and began signing autographs for others in the crowd, which sparked anger among the men.

One blurted out an F-bomb at Spieth, prompting an immediate response from the golf star who was signing an autograph for a young boy at the moment.

“C’mon, guys, there are children here,” Spieth said, per Post.

After the incident, Spieth told reporters that he “felt the need to turn around and tell them that wasn’t right.”

“A couple of them were saying, ‘You’re not Tiger Woods, don’t act like you’re Tiger.’ But here he’s still trying to benefit off me and I’m not even Tiger Woods. What does that say about you?” said Spieth, as members of the media laughed in response. “So yeah, I get into it here and there. I was just a little frustrated at the end, and I didn’t appreciate the language that was used. It was just some scums that bothered me.”

The 23-year-old is currently ranked sixth in the world on the PGA Tour, according to ESPN.

He’s played in three events so far this season, finishing third in two tournaments in Hawaii and ninth in Phoenix last week.

Spieth explained his feeling about pro autograph-seekers to reporters (see video).
