Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Paula Deen – and at himself – when he showed up with a black eye and stitches for his Monday show "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Kimmel told his audience that he hit himself with his car door while out at a restaurant with his fiancée over the weekend.

During a humorous "dramatic re-enactment," a young, shirtless male model pretended to be Kimmel as Kimmel explained what happened.

After the meal, Kimmel said he went to the hospital for stitches under his right eye. He then threw in a clever Paula Deen joke.

"My eye is so black that Paula Deen apologized to it," Kimmel said.

Deen has recently been an easy target for comedians, as the celebrity chef admitted to using a racial slur during a deposition and has since lost all of her deals with the Food Network, QVC, Walmart, and other companies. Deen's bungled attempts at apologies have made her even more of a target for comedians.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. was the most recent company to drop Deen, announcing Wednesday that it would no longer carry food items, cookware, or health and wellness products bearing her moniker at any of its 4,000 U.S. stores.

Kimmel's Twitter followers appeared to love the skit.

Jimmy Traina tweeted: "Not sure what's better here. @jimmykimmel re-enacting how he got a black eye or his Paula Deen line."

"Omg!!!! Jimmy Kimmel's black eye!!! I don't know whether to feel bad or laugh," another Twitter user wrote.

User Denzel Grant pointed out Deen was not the only star Kimmel poked at his own expense.

"Jimmy Kimmel has a black eye and just said, 'What, you think I'm dating Chris Brown or something?'"

Kimmel has been the host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on ABC since 2003, according to TV Guide. He won a Daytime Emmy Award for the talk show "Win Ben Stein's Money" in 1997. In 1999 he joined Adam Carolla to create and host "The Man Show" on Comedy Central until jumping to ABC in 2003, according to TV Guide.
