Jada Pinkett Smith said she was a drug dealer when she first met legendary rapper Tupac Shakur in the late '80s.

Smith revealed her drug dealing past while on SiriusXM's "Sway In The Morning" on Wednesday, according to Gossip Cop.

The actress was asked about the details of her friendship with the late rapper, whom she attended high school with in Baltimore.

"I haven't really told the whole story," Smith said on the show. "One of the things that is very interesting that I've never really said before is that when I first meet Pac – when we first met – I was a drug dealer."

"I won't get into the details of it because I'm going to write a book about it, but that's how we started," Smith added.

Smith also said that she and Tupac went their separate ways after she experienced "something very bad" that prompted her to change her life around.

"When I was coming out of the life, he was going more into the life," Smith said.

"And so I've been having kind of an existential crisis around Pac. ... There was a point in which we met and then we kind of were going our separate ways. And I just felt like, 'OK, God one day you're going to do for Pac what you did for me, which is you saved me,'" she added, according to the New York Daily News. "And that just never happened for him. And that is something that I am constantly having to confront."

Smith recently criticized the new Tupac biopic, "All Eyez on Me," after the film romanticized the relationship she had with the rapper, Gossip Cop noted.

The actress claimed the film failed to depict the true nature of her relationship with Tupac.

Smith said her relationship with him "was about survival," not romance.

"Most people want to always connect it in this romance thing and that's just because they don't have the story," she said.

"I'm going to have to write a book. There's so much to our story that people just have no idea about," Smith added.

Smith is starring in a new movie, "Girls Trip," that hits theaters Friday, according to The New Yorker.

The film, directed by Malcolm D. Lee, also stars Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish and Regina Hall.
