Ivanka Trump, the 31-year-old daughter of real estate mogul Donald Trump, sat down for an interview with Redbook magazine recently to discuss what her billionaire father is like beyond the boardroom.

When asked what type of a grandfather Trump is to her 20-month-old daughter Arabella Rose, Ivanka told Redbook, "He wouldn't know what to do if she was crying or needed a diaper change. Although I think he'd figure it out."

In her father's defense, Ivanka was quick to point out that Trump dotes on his granddaughter "all the time," adding in her own life growing up, "he was always a great father in that he was always there."

Ivanka is one of Trump's five children, who range in age from 7 to 35 and come from three marriages. Trump has five grandchildren, with Ivanka's older brother, Donald Trump Jr., 35, having four children of his own.

Ivanka presently works with her father in the company's real estate and hotel management initiatives and is the principal of Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry.

"Now that my brothers and I work with him, we've become even closer. If we talked a lot before, we speak 50 times a day now. I spend half the time in his office. It's wild," Ivanka said.

Ivanka also appears regularly on Trump's NBC reality show "The Apprentice," where she questions and at times grills contestants in the boardroom before her dad issues the last two words anyone wants to hear when sitting across from the Donald – "You're Fired!"

In her own life, Ivanka rejects the term "working mom," though she acknowledges that she is one, telling Redbook that the label suggests stay at home mothers do not have a fulltime job raising their children, when in fact the do.

Ivanka adds that looking after her daughter is "far more difficult than anything I do in the office."

In the interview, Ivanka also admitted to having a level of "mom guilt" for spending so much time in the office away from her daughter, telling Redbook: "Every morning I’m so sad to leave Arabella. But it’s important for me to continue what I’m doing. It’s fulfilling to me, and I think it makes me a better mom when I’m home."

Unlike her father, Ivanka says she does not seek out the spotlight and is very careful with what she reveals to the public.

Ivanka is married to businessman Jared Kushner, whose family is also invested in New York City real estate development. After marrying Kushner in 2009, Ivanka subsequently converted to Judaism.

She presently resides with her husband and their daughter in a 10-bedroom penthouse on New York's Park Avenue.
