A second woman is in stable condition after she was taken to Jefferson Hospital. A man in his twenties, who was reportedly ejected from his vehicle, "was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as a trauma alert," according to ABC affiliate WPVI Philadelphia.

The two-vehicle collision took place around 6:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Island Avenue.

One of the vehicles, a red SUV, flipped over during the crash, and CBS Philly's traffic helicopters captured footage of it being up-righted by a tow truck after the scene had been secured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
