Hurricane season 2017 has gotten off to an early start as another tropical storm looks possible to form in the Atlantic by Friday, which would be the fourth tropical cyclone to form since late June.

National Hurricane Center forecasters pulled back on the storm's odds, though, during a 2 p.m. advisory on Wednesday, saying the chances of the storm forming had dropped from 70 percent to 60 percent, according to the Miami Herald.

If the storm forms, it’ll be named Don.

This comes weeks after Tropical Storm Bret became the first storm to form in the east of the Antilles as early as mid-June.

Colorado State meteorologist Philip Klotzbach initially predicted that this year’s hurricane season would be a below average one, but his prediction has now changed after the forming of Tropical Storm Bret and two tropical Atlantic storms last month.

Forecasters pointed out in a statement that this activity is "a considerable increase from our early seasonal forecasts issued in April and June," according to USA Today.

In April, forecasters were predicting 11 tropical storms, but now they’re calling for 15, with eight of those having the potential to become hurricanes.

Winds will have to reach 39 mph for Tropical Storm Don to form.

The potential storm was located near San Juan, Puerto Rico, early Wednesday and is expected to be northeast of the Bahamas by the beginning of next week. By the end of next week, the system could be traveling through Bermuda and headed for the southern Atlantic coast of the U.S., which would be a big deal considering the fact that hurricanes only hit the U.S. in July about every seven years or so, according to the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory.

The Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1 to Nov. 30.
