The house used as a setting in the first "Harry Potter" movie has been put up for sale by the owners for nearly half a million pounds (about $620,000).

Known in the movie as 4 Privet Drive, the house was where Harry lived in a “cupboard” (closet) under the stairs with his evil aunt and uncle before going to Hogwarts.

The closet is still intact, according to the Daily Mail, although the rest of the home has been renovated in high-end fashion.

The three-bedroom home is advertised as spacious and ideal for commuters, since it is only 0.2 miles from the nearest transit station. Its real address is 12 Picket Post Close and it is in Bracknell, in the province of Berkshire, about 25 miles west of London.

A backyard and garage also are part of the property, which is on a quiet cul-de-sac. There is a patio and garden in the backyard for entertaining. The master bedroom has an en-suite and there is another family bathroom upstairs as well.

According to CNN Money, the house was sold in 2003 just after the first Harry Potter movie for 249,000 pounds ($325,000) and again in 2010 for 290,000 ($377,000), but house values have risen considerably in England in recent years due to government stimulus and a lack of available supply.

The current price is considered fair and not inflated due to its famous past, although some commenters on the Daily Mail article still thought it was pricy. Others lamented the fact that homeowners renovated it instead of keeping it exactly the same way it was in the movie.
