Hackers posted FBI and Homeland Security staff information on the Internet this week after boasting about gaining access to a Department of Justice database.

The hackers, tweeting under the account @DotGov, published the contact information of 10,000 Homeland Security employees Sunday and followed up the next day with details about 20,000 FBI workers, CNN reported.

The website Motherboard said that the hackers sent it a copy of the data on Sunday, which included names, email addresses, and job descriptions, such as task force deputy director, security specialist, special agent, and many more.

"Long Live Palestine, Long Live Gaza," reads one message at the top of the information dump, which also included the hashtag #FreePalestine, the website noted.

"The department is looking into the unauthorized access of a system operated by one of its components containing employee contact information," Department of Justice spokesman Peter Carr told CNN. "This unauthorized access is still under investigation; however, there is no indication at this time that there is any breach of sensitive personally identifiable information."

"The department takes this very seriously and is continuing to deploy protection and defensive measures to safeguard information. Any activity that is determined to be criminal in nature will be referred to law enforcement for investigation," Carr added.

According to Motherboard, the hackers claim to have gotten into a Justice Department email account and then used information from it to trick a department representative into giving them a token code to access the government portal.

There, the hackers reportedly accessed the databases of Homeland Security and FBI via the Justice Department's intranet.

The Hill newspaper reported that another hacker group recently cracked into the personal email accounts of several high-ranking law enforcement and intelligence officials in support of Palestine.
