'Godfather' Mansion for Sale for $3M3, or an Offer Owners Can't Refuse

"The Godfather" mansion is for sale in New York, and the piece of cinematic history can be yours for $2.89 million — or an offer the owners can't refuse.

According to the New York Post, the 6,248 square foot, eight-bedroom, three-bathroom English Tudor style mansion sits on more than half an acre in Staten Island's posh Todt Hill.

The current owner purchased the home in 2012 for $1.7 million, and renovated it so that many parts — including Don Corleone's office — look just as they did in the Oscar-winning movie.

In truth, however, "They only filmed outside, they never filmed inside the house," realtor Joseph Profaci told CBS New York. Nonetheless, the current owners "put dark wood paneling, a nice red leather chair. It’s beautiful."

That means that after consulting your consigliore, one can wander down to the yard where Connie was wed, and step to the backyard where the Godfather himself, played by Marlon Brando, had a heart attack in the tomatoes.

Producers learned of the ideal film location through actor Gianni Russo, who grew up nearby, and played the traitorous son-in-law Carlo Rizzi.

The mansion itself dates back to 1930, when it was built for Joseph Palma, who became Staten Island's borough president in 1933, and fathered 11 children.
