Emilia Clarke commented on sexism in Hollywood comparing it to racism during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine posted online Wednesday.

Clarke, 30, star of the HBO award-winning series "Game of Thrones,' said she had recently come around to noticing how she is treated in comparison to her male counterparts, noted Rolling Stone.

"I feel so naive for saying it, but it's like dealing with racism," said Clarke, who has played Daenerys Targaryen since 2011, in the Rolling Stone interview. "You're aware of it, and you're aware of it, but one day, you go, 'Oh, my God, it's everywhere!'

"Like you suddenly wake up to it and you go, 'Wait a f****** second, are you . . . are you treating me different because I've got a pair of t***? Is that actually happening?' It took me a really long time to see that I do get treated differently. But I look around, and that's my daily life," Clarke continued.

Clarke acknowledged in the article of the sexualized nature of her character, appearing nude at various times during the series and being named as Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" in 2015.

"It doesn't stop me from being a feminist," Clarke told Rolling Stone. "Like, guess what? Yes, I've got mascara on, and I also have a high IQ, so those two things can be one and the same."

Clarke told USA Today last year that she does not do internet searches on herself to stay away from negativity.

"I have a rule: I just don’t Google myself," Clarke told USA Today then. "I'm on social media, but I don’t look at the stuff that other people tag me in because it just (messes) me up. Like, 'Oh, I'm hideous and fat,' but then if I don't read it, you save yourself from finding any haters out there. If you hate me, I don’t need to know."

Clarke appeared opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator Genisys" in 2015 and will star in the upcoming "Hans Solo" movie as part of Disney "Star Wars" connected franchise next year. "Game of Thrones" will return for a new season on HBO on July 16.
