In amazing showing of support after Saturday's game, the entire Ohio State University football team individually bear-hugged longtime sports anchor Dom Tiberi, who had just returned to work after losing his daughter in a car accident in September.

Maria Tiberi, a 21-year-old Ohio State student, died Sept. 17, sending shockwaves through the close-knit community. Dom Tiberi, sports director and anchor at Columbus' WBNS-TV, made his emotional return to work Friday.

"It’s never going to be the same; a little piece of me died," Tiberi said on the air Friday. "We’re going to try to make a positive out of this... Thanks for sticking with me."

The next day, after its victory over the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Ohio State community showed Tiberi how much they truly cared.

As the football players made their way to the locker room, each of them stopped to embrace Tiberi.

"Whoa," the anchor reportedly said to the camera, his voice catching, as the last few members of the Buckeyes walked off to the locker room. "That was amazing."

A few days after Maria Tiberi's death, more than 100,000 Ohio State fans commemorated her with a moment of silence, according to WBNS-TV.

"It really makes you recognize how precious life is, and it really brings everyone together, even though I didn't personally know her very well. We can still all feel for her and we'll still support her family. And as the entire Ohio State community, I think we're always very good at doing that," OSU student Stephanie Poeppelman told the local CBS affiliate.
