Deven Schuko, an undefeated high school wrestler in Massachusetts, graciously granted a match to an opponent on the rival team who has special needs his past weekend, which made the young man's day, and earned him praise from the local community.

"Deven Schuko, he's a class act," said Norton High School wrestling coach Pat Coleman, WCBV-TV reported. "Deven has a natural respect for any wrestler, such as Andy, and I think Deven just proved there that it's never wrong to do the right thing."

"When you get a story like this, and a fine young man like Deven can step up and wrestle our Andy Howland, you know, he's in for a tussle," added Dighton-Rehoboth High School athletic director Doug Kelley.

Howland, who has Down syndrome, asked for a match during the high school wrestling meet, and Schuko was the first to answer the call.

"He wanted a match, and I wanted to tangle with him," Deven Schuko said.

"He threw in a good move," Schuko said. "He was strong. He's a tough kid."

In the end, Howland emerged victorious, an outcome that overjoyed the audience.

"If I had to lose to someone, I'd like to lose to Andy," Schuko said. "It was a win-win in my book. He won, I won."

After his big win, Howland told reporters, "I love it," according to CBS Boston.

"It’s nice to see good sportsmanship is not dead," Howland's mother, Debbie, wrote on Facebook, the New York Daily News reported

This is a video of what a team captain and leader looks like. Devin Schuko, a senior with a 27-0 record this year, a young man who earned his 100th career win a few days ago to join the century club at NHS, took the time to make a dream come true for young wrestler with special needs from Dighton Rehoboth's team. So proud to have witnessed this. Truly a special young man.. Thank you Schuko!
