Daymond John revealed on "Good Morning America" Wednesday that he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year and underwent treatment for it.

John, a regular star on ABC’s “Shark Tank” since 2009, told Robin Roberts had stage 2 thyroid cancer and that a cancerous nodule was removed from his thyroid.

“I didn’t miss anything, I was out partying and dancing two days later — not that I should've,” John said on "Good Morning America."

Many thyroid cancers are slow-growing, and John knows he will have to monitor what’s left of his thyroid to make sure the cancer doesn’t come back.

Saying he wanted to share his experience to help others, John made it clear he planned to be around to see his three daughters grow up and watch them walk down the aisle, so he knew he had to fight aggressively against the cancer.

“You can prevent this, and you can stay around in your family’s life,” John said.

John is the CEO of fashion brand FUBU and appears on “Shark Tank” with Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, and others. The show, which gives budding entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their product ideas to potential investors and fellow entrepreneurs, will soon have its 200th episode.

Twitter fans let John know they were keeping him in their prayers.
