Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant and cornerback Tyler Patmon got into a fight during the team's second day of workouts on Sunday, but the teammates downplayed the incident afterward.

Video footage showed the intensity between the two former Oklahoma State players as the Cowboys' first-team offense was matched with the first-team defense, ESPN reported.

Bryant and Patmon, a second-year cornerback, collided at the line of scrimmage. Both players' helmets came off and Patmon could be seen getting a punch on Bryant before the wide receiver charged back.

After other Cowboys broke up the fight and the players returned to the sideline, Bryant went over the defensive sideline and started yelling at Patmon again, trying to grab him, noted the Dallas Morning News.

Bryant appeared to calm down after quarterback Tony Romo and coach Jason Garrett interceded. Bryant soon walked over to Patmon to give him a high five and a hug.

"It's just two great competitors going at it," Bryant told reporters. "We were chirping a little bit back and forth, but at the end of the day, that’s what you want. I got a little bit overheated. At the end of the day, that's something that you really need for a team to try to win ballgames."

Patmon, who was taking first-team reps for starter Maurice Claiborne, downplayed the incident as well.

"Oh, man, it's just brothers," Patmon explained. "Brothers fight. It's just what happens sometimes. So we go out at, we squashed, and it's over."

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones did not seem to mind the fight either, even though he just signed Bryant to a new five-year, $70 million contract last month, according to KXAS-TV.

"This was our second day of having this crowd out here," Jones told reporters. "And the kind of atmosphere that everybody's worked to put together, and that atmosphere breeds that kind of passion, that kind of excitement, and sure enough here comes some little after-the-whistle action. ... That's good stuff. That's training camp."
