A Florida couple that treaded water for 14 hours after falling off their boat in the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend was rescued Saturday morning by a group of men out fishing.

Sean McGovern, 50, and Mellisa Morris, 52, reportedly fell off their 30-foot Island Hopper boat around 6 p.m. Friday in Key Largo, WSVN.com reported.

With no flotation devices or means to call for help, the couple was forced to tread water until help found them.

It finally came 14 hours later when four fishermen — two who happened to be off-duty Broward Sheriff's Office detectives and one who works as a local firefighter — spotted the couple seven miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean near Hallandale Beach.

"We originally thought they were fish," BSO Detective James White told WSVN.com. "We got up close, and once we realized that they were in trouble, we brought them on board."

"The female, when we brought her on board, her legs were actually cramped," rescuer Steve Couch said. "She couldn't even move them. We had to actually lift her out of the water."

Despite treading water for 14 hours, McGovern and Morris will reportedly make a full recovery.

"Another 30 minutes to an hour, it probably wouldn't have the same outcome as it did today because they were in pretty bad shape," BSO Detective Josh Webb told the news station. "They were both cramping pretty bad, they were both very dehydrated, very tired. They appeared [to be] mildly hypothermic. ... Maybe God put us over there to save them, you know? Who knows why?"
