Talking Points Memo: Top trump aide allegedly strong-arms Breitbart reporter after presser

Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump's campaign manager, roughed up a woman reporter from Breitbart News who was trying to ask the Republican front-runner a question after a Tuesday night news conference in Florida, reported Politico.

Michelle Fields was "forcibly yanked" from an area by Lewandowski, who grabbed her arm so hard that it nearly brought her to the ground, a source who saw the incident told Politico. Fields had planned to ask Trump a question as he left the conference.

"It's obviously unacceptable that someone crossed a line and made physical contact with our reporter," Breitbart News chief executive and president Larry Solov said in a statement.

"What Michelle has told us directly is that someone 'grabbed her arm' and while she did not see who it was, Ben Terris of the Washington Post told her that it was Corey Lewandowski. If that's the case, Corey owes Michelle an immediate apology," Solov continued.

Terris confirmed to the Huffington Post that he witnessed the incident, but declined to describe it further.

Daily Caller senior editor Jamie Weinstein, Fields boyfriend, complained about the treatment on Twitter.

The incident isn't the first controversy Lewandowski has had with the media. The Washington Post reported in November that he threatened to pull the credentials of CNN reporter Noah Gray who left a press area in an attempt to cover protesters at a Trump rally in Worcester, Massachusetts.

"Inside the pen, or I will pull your credentials," Lewandowski reportedly told Gray as he tried to cover the disturbance. "Media goes in the pen. … I'm telling you. Media stays in the pen."

Gray posted a video of the confrontation on Twitter.

The Department of Homeland Security's inspector general is investigating a Feb. 29 incident in which a Secret Service agent appeared to body-slam Time magazine photographer Chris Morris during a Trump campaign rally in Virginia, said Politico.
