Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are returning to host the CMA Awards show for a sixth straight year.

Paisley, 40, and Underwood, 30, appeared just after the announcement was made during Monday night’s “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” special on ABC.

The 47th annual Country Music Association Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is scheduled to air on the night of Nov. 6 on ABC.

“Carrie and Brad are the consummate hosts,” Ed Hardy, who heads the CMA’s board of directors, said in a news release. “They have the respect of our industry, artistic credibility, critical acclaim and a quick-witted, genuine rapport that makes them popular with our audience and the viewers at home. We are delighted to have them back as hosts for the sixth year.”

Similar to the Academy Awards, artists vying for the CMA Awards are nominated and voted on by more than 7,000 members of the Country Music Association.

Finalists will be announced in September. A final round of voting by eligible CMA members will begin Oct. 10 and end Oct. 28.

The eligibility period for the 2013 CMA Awards is from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013.

Categories include Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Paisley has won 14 CMA Awards and Underwood five in their respective careers.
