Longtime singer and piano player Buddy Greco, who began his career with Benny Goodman and whose signature hit was 1962’s “The Lady Is a Tramp,” died Tuesday in Las Vegas at age 90.

Greco was inducted into the Las Vegas Entertainment Hall of Fame in November. He recorded more than 60 albums in his lifetime and toured Las Vegas regularly until at least 2013.

The jazz singer and performer first sang on the radio at age 4 and started playing piano at age 6, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Greco was hired at age 16 to play for Benny Goodman, which began a long career that included rubbing elbows with Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. Greco also performed with the Beatles for Queen Elizabeth.

Greco’s other hit songs included “Ain’t She Pretty,” “Around the World,” “Girl Talk,” and “The More I See You.” He had his own network television show in the 1960s with George Carlin.

Additionally, Greco wrote music for and conducted several orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, according to the Desert Sun.

After owning a jazz club with wife Lezlie Anders that closed in 2009, they moved to England where Greco produced “Fever: The Music of Peggy Lee,” in which he also performed with his wife, and continued to return to tour Las Vegas.

Greco is survived by his wife and several children from previous marriages.
