Brooklyn Nets Superfan Ejected From MSG Without Prosthetic Leg

Brooklyn Nets superfan Jeffrey Gamblero was carried out of Tuesday night's game with crosstown rival New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden without his prosthetic leg.

The Nets won the game 98-93, but Gamblero was long gone by then after MSG staff and security guards ejected him in the third quarter for reportedly using his prosthetic limb as a weapon, according to the New York Daily News.

"They grabbed him and pulled him out," one MSG staffer told the Daily News about the removal. "I don't know if he was arrested but they got him out of there so he didn't start a riot."

"An unruly fan was ejected after MSG security received multiple complaints from fans sitting in that area," the Knicks said via a team spokesperson to ESPN New York. "The fan was warned multiple times before being removed. He will not be permitted back into Madison Square Garden."

One fan told ESPN that Gamblero was "was being obnoxious and yelling. People were complaining. The security surrounded him and carried him out without his leg. I've never seen anything like that."

Another witness called the incident "one of the cruelest and most upsetting things I have ever seen." That person told The Brooklyn Game blog that Gamblero was simply cheering loudly for the Nets and the Knicks fans didn't like it because Brooklyn was winning.

"[Gamblero] was being his usual self, absolutely no cursing, no negative cheering, just dancing and loud cheering for the Nets," the fan told The Brooklyn Game. "Never attacked a Knicks fan, never got out of hand. After halftime a guard came up and told him to 'cool down and just be a fan.'"

"Obviously didn't know who he was. He said 'what did I do wrong? Should I be quiet?' They said 'no, just cool it down' . . . The guards came back and told him to stop. He said 'why? Is this a library?' Then the main guard on the floor gave the signal to kick him out. He would not leave. A guard then touched his leg and he said 'ouch you’re hurting me I have a prosthetic leg.' He then took off the leg, which is when things escalated."
