Amanda Knox was at the murder scene when Meredith Kercher was stabbed to death in 2007, claimed Rudy Guede during a prime time TV interview which aired on Thursday in Italy.

Guede, 29, who is the only one still convicted in the death of the British student, is serving a 16-year prison sentence. Knox and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were both twice convicted and then acquitted of the murder.

Guede said on the program "Maledette Storie" — Italian for "Cursed Stories" — that he was making out with Kercher when Knox arrived at their residence in Perugia, according to The Daily Beast.

The Ivory Coast native said in the interview that Kercher had complained during his visit that Knox, who was her roommate, had stolen money from her and was a slob. Guede said he went to the bathroom before Knox arrived.

"Meredith opened the door, and I heard the voice of Amanda Knox coming into the house," said Guede, per NBC News. "They started arguing. Earlier on Meredith complained about her stealing money, so I didn't worry too much, and remained in the bathroom."

Guede said he stayed in the bathroom for "around 10 or 11 minutes" listening to music before hearing a loud scream, said The Daily Beast. He said he left bathroom to investigate the scream when Knox and an unidentified man ran off, per NBC News.

NBC News said Italian authorities hadn't commented on the program and Sollecito had little comment.

"As I have said many times, I do not watch TV," said Sollecito. "I do not know Guede, nor have I ever met him aside from in court."

In 2009, Knox and Sollecito were convicted of stabbing Kercher to death and sentenced to 26 years in prison, but the convictions were reversed in 2011. An Italian appeals court, though, overturned those acquittals in 2013 and the pair were convicted again in 2014. Italy's highest court overturned those convictions again last year.

Italian prosecutors charged that Kercher's death was part of a sex game gone wrong, said London's Daily Mail.

Guede was convicted in 2008 after his DNA was found on Kercher's body and his footprints were in her blood, said NBC News. He fled to Germany in the days after the killing but was extradited back to Italy, said the Daily Mail.
