Alex Trebek, who has hosted the television game show "Jeopardy!" since 1984, has received a new deal from Sony Pictures Television that extends through 2018.

Trebek, 74, reportedly earns $10 million per season as host of the long-running show that's consistently ranked as one of the top syndicated programs nationally, the New York Post reported.

"Jeopardy!" attracts 10.7 million daily viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Wheel of Fortune" hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White have also signed on through 2018.

"The enduring success of 'Wheel of Fortune' and Jeopardy!' serves as a testament to the talents of these remarkable hosts," Harry Friedman, the executive producer of both game shows, told The Hollywood Reporter. "The renewal of their contracts continues the special bond that Pat, Vanna, and Alex have formed with generations of TV viewers."

Last June, Trebek was awarded the Guinness World Record for most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter with 6,829 episodes under his belt at the time.

"This is special in the fact that I've been around for a long time, and I've had the good fortune to be associated with a good program like 'Jeopardy!'" Trebek said then. "It also means that I've been around a long time."

He said last year that he had no current plans to retire.

"I told audiences and interviewers in the past that I will stick with it as long as I'm having a good time and as long as I feel my skills haven't diminished too much," Trebek told The Reporter.

Emails during the Sony hacking scandal last year revealed that Trebek threatened to leave the game show when producers asked him to re-tape a portion of one show to appease a mother of a child contestant.

"If I'm making mistakes and saying things you don't like, maybe it's time for me to move on," Trebek reportedly wrote in one email to producers, adding that he felt he was not being supported after the mother of an 11-year-old accused the host of not being sympathetic to her child. "It's not a threat, but I want to let you know how I'm feeling."
