Adam Saleh, a YouTube celebrity who became known for his prank videos, was reportedly kicked off a Delta flight on Wednesday after speaking Arabic to his mom over the phone just moments before takeoff.

Saleh recorded a video that appeared to show him being escorted off the plane and speaking out about being kicked off the plane, CBS News reported.

In an interview with CBS, the YouTube star said he takes several flights every month, but this has never happened to him before.

“I speak to my mom on the phone every flight,” Saleh said. “She only speaks Arabic.”

According to BBC, a passenger allegedly said they were uncomfortable after Saleh spoke in Arabic.

“This lady screamed, ‘What is he saying?’ and said she felt uncomfortable,” Saleh said. “The captain came and asked what happened.”

“I was so disgusted I took a video as I was being asked to leave,” he added.

Saleh’s video, which he posted to his Twitter account, was retweeted 83,000 times in a two-hour span, according to CBS News.

Delta issued a statement, saying “more than 20 customers” expressed their discomfort, BBC noted.

“We are taking allegations of discrimination very seriously; our culture requires treating others with respect,” the airlines said.

Saleh is considered a YouTube sensation, USA Today noted. He has more than 3 million total YouTube subscribers on his vlog and main channel. His website says that he’s also an actor and rapper.

Saleh is also a Muslim, which he’s been open about in his prank videos, CBS News noted.

"Saleh has a history of posting prank videos designed to look like the real thing," CBS News reported, pointing to an "infamously faked viral video" in 2014 that claimed to show racial profiling.

“Maintaining a safe, comfortable and orderly onboard environment is paramount for every flight and requires the cooperation of all of our customers in conjunction with adherence to directions from our crew members,” Delta said in its statement, per CBS News. “This is a Delta policy and is required by U.S. regulations as well as others governing aviation worldwide.”

“Two customers were removed from Delta flight 1 departing London-Heathrow today after a disturbance in the cabin resulted in more than 20 customers expressing their discomfort.”

“We have spoken with the customers who were removed; they were rebooked on another flight. Plans are in place to immediately speak with our crew and other passengers when the flight lands this afternoon. We will provide an update once we have more information.”
