BERKELEY, Calif. -- University of California, Berkeley officials say hackers have infiltrated restricted computer databases. The university is notifying 160,000 current and former students, alumni and others whose personal information may have been stolen. The university says data include Social Security numbers, health insurance information and some medical records dating back to 1999. Officials say personal medical records _ such as patient diagnoses, treatments and therapies _ have not been compromised. The databases also include personal information of parents and spouses as well as Mills College students who used Berkeley's health services. The server breach occurred on Oct. 6, 2008, and lasted until April 9.
