The biggest proportion of liberal Democrats who oppose President Donald Trump are middle-aged women, a poll shows.

The Democratic pollster Lake Research Partners survey found 72 percent of women said they had already taken part in a protest against the Trump administration, and 77 percent said they they were very likely to protest in the future.

The survey found 86 percent of those who participated in the non-scientific poll were female, and 66 percent were over the age of 45.

Axios.com, which reported on the poll Sunday, noted participants were those who use the text-message-based tool, Daily Action, which suggests a civic-minded task via text message every day – like calling one's federal or state representatives to "resist extremism in America."

"I think there was something really catalyzing about this election, for women in particular," Laura Moser, founder of Daily Action, told The Huffington Post.

Lake Research told the Huffington Post they believe the survey reflects Daily Action's "most active users."
