Controversial white nationalist Richard Spencer was booted from the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington on Thursday, according to reports.

The public face of the so-called alt-right movement bought a general admission pass Thursday morning and was spotted speaking to reporters in the lobby of the Gaylord National Resort outside Washington, D.C., where the convention is held, NPR reported.

After CPAC officials were told of Spencer's presence, security kicked him out.

According to The Washington Post, Spencer was incredulous, asking, "I'm not welcome on the property?"

A guard replied: "I'm not going to debate this. They want you off the property."

He later argued to NBC News "people want to talk to me."

"They don't want to talk to these boring conservatives," he told the news outlet. "They want to learn about ideas whose time has come, not whose time has passed."

In an interview with NPR, CPAC spokesman Ian Walter called Spencer's views "repugnant" and said they "have absolutely nothing to do with conservatism or what we do here."

According to the Post, the conference had a panel titled "The Alt Right Ain't Right At All," during which executive director of the American Conservative Union Dan Schneider denounced the movement.

"There is a sinister organization that is trying to worm its way into our ranks," he said, the Post reported. "We must not be deceived by (a) hateful, left-wing fascist group."
