A German newspaper editor called "murder in the White House" an easier way to stop the "Trump catastrophe" as opposed to impeachment in Congress, according to The Daily Caller's translation of a German TV show

German weekly Die Zeit editor-publisher Josef Joffe's remark came in response to an impeachment question to the TV program's panel.

"There has to be a qualified two-thirds majority of the Senate in order for a removal of office to take place," a female "ARD-Presseclub" panelist responded, per The Daily Caller. "These are politically and legally pretty high hurdles, a lot would have to happen for it.

"We're far away from that."

Joffe offered, according to the translation: "Murder in the White House, for example."

Joffe's pre-inauguration op-ed in The Guardian was titled: "Trump has bared his fangs to Merkel. He will do untold damage to Europe."

"Does this sound like a remake of the 1920s and 1930s?" Joffe wrote. "It does – 100 years later. The first world war ended Globalization 1.0, circa 1850 to 1914. Trump promises to bring down Globalization 2.0, born in the 1970s."
