American voters support 60-31 percent President Donald Trump renegotiating trade deals with other countries — even if it means paying more for products, a new Quinnipiac University poll reveals.

Here are other highlights from the poll:

  • Eighty-nine percent of voters support increasing federal spending for roads, bridges, mass transit and other infrastructure, while 9 percent oppose it.
  • Thirty-eight percent of voters support building a wall along the border with Mexico, while 59 percent oppose it.
  • Fifty percent of voters approve of Trump's nomination of Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, while 30 percent disapprove.
  • Twenty-nine percent say Trump should remove specific regulations intended to fight climate change, while 61 percent say he should not.
  • Thirty-nine percent say Trump should remove regulations on businesses and corporations, while 49 percent say he should not.
  • Forty percent support the restarting of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, while 50 percent oppose it.

"A litany of calls to 'hold your horses, Mr. President.' Americans want President Donald Trump to keep the regulatory reins on business, and voters call for a full stop to laying new pipelines full of oil," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll.

The rest of the poll breaks down like this:

  • Forty-six percent of voters say they support efforts to repeal Obamacare, while 50 percent do not.
  • Seventy-nine percent say Trump should defend all of America's NATO allies, if necessary, while 13 percent disagree.
  • Twenty-seven percent say abortions should be legal in all cases; 35 percent say it should be legal is most cases; 23 percent say it should be illegal in most cases and 11 percent say it should be illegal in all cases.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,155 voters nationwide with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
