Veterans charities are reportedly still waiting for a large chunk of the $6 million Donald Trump raised for them after he skipped a January debate.

The Wall Street Journal looked at 19 of the 22 charities Trump pledged to donate money to and found they are missing about $2.6 million of the $6 million that was promised.

Most of the groups received checks in increments of $50,000 or $100,000, reports the Journal, beginning at the end of February. Three of the groups admitted they received checks between $5,000 and $15,000 in March.

Trump boycotted a Republican presidential debate in late January ahead of the Iowa caucuses because of a squabble with Fox News. He hosted a rally instead, and raised about $6 million that he said would go to charities that benefit veterans groups.

"Mr. Trump has distributed many of the contributions to a number of worthy organizations, and will continue to do so," Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks told the Journal.

Trump's donations went through the Donald J. Trump Foundation. His campaign released the list of charities to which it would donate in January.
