John Kasich Expected to Announce Gov. Run in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Republican congressman John Kasich is expected to make it official that he'll run for Ohio governor in 2010.

Kasich's campaign announcement is scheduled for Monday afternoon in the Columbus suburb of Westerville, his hometown.

The 57-year-old, who served in Congress for 18 years, filed documents last month to begin raising money for a bid to retake the governor's office for the GOP.

Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland has not formally said if he wants a second term.

Republican state Sen. Kevin Couglin has already announced he's in the race.

Kasich has been an on-air personality for Fox News. He served six years as managing director of Lehman Brothers' investment banking division until the bank declared bankruptcy last fall.
