Donald Trump's leadership in his first few days as president "suggestive of a tin-pot dictatorship," The Philadelphia Inquirer says in an editorial published Thursday.

"Every administration is free to set its own agenda. But the Trump administration is not free to say 2 + 2 = 5. This is no longer a reality TV show. Facts and the truth should rule policy debates," the newspaper's editorial board writes.

"Trump was elected president by promising to create jobs and help average Americans. If he could somehow stay focused on those bread and butter issues, the adoration he craves may follow."

The Inquirer says Trump, who is visiting Philadelphia on Thursday, as well as his staff, are guilty of "spreading bald lies" and "suppressing basic facts and information."

They "spent their first days in the White House debating the size of his inauguration crowd and spreading falsehoods" like a claim that up to 5 million illegal immigrants cost the billionaire real-estate tycoon the popular vote.

"In addition, the Trump administration has yanked information about climate change from the White House website and the Environmental Protection Agency was ordered to remove its climate change page," the newspaper says.
