Donald Trump's advisers have invited executives from Apple, Facebook, Google, Oracle, and other tech industry leaders to meet with the president-elect to discuss the industry, sources told Politico.

Venture capitalist Peter Thiel will represent Trump at the meeting scheduled for Dec. 14. Incoming White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will also attend, according to Politico.

Thiel is leading Trump's transition team on technology issues such as internet regulation and surveillance reform.

"I think (Thiel) is the only person on the transition team with any real tech connections or tech credibility," Garrett Johnson, co-founder of SendHub, told Politico. "I would say he is the best gateway at present if anyone in the tech world wants to have a conversation with the transition or eventually the administration."

A spokeswoman for the ride-sharing app Uber said it was not sending a representative, "but of course, we will be engaging the administration on issues that matter for our business."

During Trump's presidential campaign, he issued criticism against tech giants such as Apple and Amazon.

In February, the real-estate mogul called for a boycott on Apple products unless the company agreed to unlock the cell phone of the killer in the San Bernardino, California terror attack.

And in May, he criticized Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, saying he used The Washington Post, which Bezos purchased in 2013, "for power so the politicians don’t tax Amazon like they should be."
