Donald Trump Friday night targeted Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren through tweets and in a speech where he labeled her as "goofy," leading the progressive Democrat to launch into a scorched-earth, late-night tweetstorm against the presumptive GOP nominee.

Friday night, Trump, responding to Warren's tweets earlier in the week calling him "narcissistic and racist," said he hopes "corrupt" Hillary Clinton picks "goofy" Warren as her vice president:
He went on to call her a "fraud" over her statements about having a Native American background:
He also called her Clinton's "flunky": And said he was driving her "nuts":
Then, he called her "weak and ineffective:"
Trump's Twitter attacks came after a fiery speech he made in Oregon, where he ridiculed Warren by calling her "goofy," a "goofus," and "a basket case" who had done nothing in the Senate.

Warren first started facing questions about her Native American ancestry during her 2012 Senate campaign, after being listed as having that ancestry at Harvard University.

But Warren Friday night didn't take Trump's speech or tweets lightly, firing off a series of a dozen tweets of her own that ridiculed him for the use of the word "goofy," called him a "bully," and much more.

First, she said Trump is "lame":
Then, "weak":
Ridiculed him on his "birther" claims against President Barack Obama: And, concluding several other tweets in which she called him a "liar" and taunted him for using the attacks that were first tried by ex-Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, against her, wrapped up the storm by tweeting:
Such attacks just solidify Trump's message, radio show host and Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes told CNN Saturday morning.

"She was on Twitter for hours attacking Mr. Trump," Hughes said. "That's what all these people have not figured out, people like President Obama and Paul Ryan and Hillary Clinton and now Elizabeth Warren, that solidified his message."
