Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said President Donald Trump must turn away from daily controversies and toward handling issues.

"We cannot have this constant chaos and serious questions being raised virtually every single day. It is distracting from the ability to work on certain issues like healthcare reform, and the administration needs to get its house in order," Collins said on Newsradio WGAN AM560, according to CNN's "K-File."

"Clearly, the administration needs to take stock of its operations and the president needs to do a far better job of understanding the differences among the three branches of government — what's appropriate, what isn't appropriate," Collins added during the interview, according to CNN.

"He needs to ask advice from his advisers and he needs to listen to that advice. We're four months into this new administration, a little over that, and he needs to right the ship," the Maine Republican said in the WGAN interview.

Collins also discussed recent events surrounding Trump during an appearance Wednesday on CNN's "New Day."

"We should pursue all of those allegations. That means not only getting access to Mr. Comey's memo, but any other memos or transcripts even tangentially related to this issue, and we need to hear directly from Mr. Comey himself," Collins said.
