Comedian Stephen Colbert will hold two pricey fundraisers later this month to benefit his sister Elizabeth Colbert Busch’s Democratic campaign to represent South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.

Tickets for the events are running as high as $10,000 each and will include private and general receptions, according to Politico.

The first fundraiser will be held in Washington, D.C., on April 15, and will feature the host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and more than a dozen Democratic members of Congress to lend their support. The second will follow in New York City on April 23, when Colbert and former investment banker, Sallie Krawcheck, host a gathering at Krawcheck’s home.

A minimum donation of $2,600 is required to attend the D.C. event, with general admission tickets costing $500, Politico reported late Monday night.

Top Democrats, including Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, Sen. Al Franken, assistant Democratic leader Jim Clyburn, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and Sen. Mary Landrieu, are listed as co-hosts.

Colbert has already hosted two fundraisers for his sister, who is expected to face former South Carolina GOP Gov. Mark Sanford in the special election on May 7 to replace former Rep. Tim Scott, now serving in the U.S. Senate.

According to The Huffington Post
, internal polls taken for Colbert Bush show her running just ahead of Sanford, who is expected to win the Republican primary being held today, by a 47 percent to 44 percent margin.

Republicans, however, are still confident about taking the 1st district seat, which has been held by the GOP for more than 30 years.
