Senate Republicans are preparing to force votes on President Donald Trump's remaining nominees in an effort to break the logjam on his picks, The Hill reports.

Only four nominees were confirmed by senators during Trump's first week in office.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said lawmakers will "in a more fulsome way move into approving Cabinet appointments, both controversial and non-controversial."

The website noted Democrats are facing a tough fight in blocking any of the president's Cabinet nominees since only 51 votes are needed in the Senate to confirm the picks. Republicans hold a 52-seat majority.

But Democrats can use procedural hurdles to delay consideration on individual nominees for days, The Hill reported.

A fight is already brewing over the pending vote on Trump's nominee to head the State Department, Rex Tillerson. Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., have already announced their opposition, according to the website.

But Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin has said he will support Tillerson.

Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to vote Monday evening on Trump's pick of Steven Mnuchin to head the Treasury Department.

And a vote on Trump's pick of Elaine Chao as transportation secretary is scheduled to come before the Senate on Tuesday. The Senate Judiciary Committee is also scheduled to vote Tuesday on Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., Trump's pick for attorney general. The move would clear the way for a full Senate vote.

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump has complained Senate Democrats are cramping his style.

"I'm meeting with the prime minister tomorrow, as you know. Great Britain," Trump told Republicans last week. "I don't have my commerce secretary. They want to talk trade. So, I'll have to handle it myself."
