Fla. Gov Scott: Conservatives Should Focus on State Level

By Todd Beamon   |   Friday, 16 Nov 2012 06:40 PM

Florida Gov. Rick Scott said on Friday that conservatives needed to get over last week’s election and start focusing their efforts at the state level.

“The election is over,” Scott told a meeting of the Federalist Society’s National Lawyers Convention in Washington. “We may not be happy with the current occupant of the White House, but the question is what are we going to do about it?”

According to Politico, Scott said that the time had come for politicians to seek “solutions” versus dwelling on problems.

Scott also acknowledged that Obamacare was now the law of the land, but he called it “the largest tax increase in American history.”

He said he had written Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Friday asking for a meeting to discuss how a state health exchange that would allow individuals to compare insurance plans and pricing could “reduce the cost of health care, improve access, and improve quality.”

“Gov. Romney did not win the election, so that was not an option, to repeal Obamacare,” Scott said, according to Politico.
