Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday he will refrain from sharing his opinion on the story surrounding Donald Trump's campaign manager and the female reporter whose arm he allegedly grabbed at a recent event.

Limbaugh spent a portion of his Tuesday show talking about the story, giving viewers his thoughts on surveillance video of the alleged incident that was released. Corey Lewandowski was charged with battery on former Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields that same day.

On Wednesday, Limbaugh said his words were "misunderstood" and he has decided to keep quiet.

"My friends, I have decided that, going forward, I cannot share with you my opinion on this story," Limbaugh said. And so going forward, I will not opine. I will simply tell you what the latest is, but I will not tell you what I think about it.

"No matter what I say, I am convinced people cannot listen anymore. And no matter what I say, it is going to be misconstrued into one of two things. Either I'm defending Lewandowski or I am trying to destroy Trump in order to help Ted Cruz. And I have done neither, said neither."

Limbaugh pointed out on Tuesday how much time CNN spent on the story and how the network covered it.

"CNN still is doing Corey Lewandowski," Limbaugh said. "They've been doing it for two straight hours now with a rotating a bunch of guests. No less than four guests opining in every segment.

"CNN is today trying to destroy the Trump campaign. Fine and dandy. They're the media. It's what they want to do. They're afraid of Trump. They don't like Trump. Whatever it is, they're trying to use this Lewandowski thing to raise doubts. War on Women. I'm not listening to it, but I can see it happening here."

The Trump campaign is publicly supporting Lewandowski and said he did not doing anything wrong during the alleged March 8 encounter.
