Many pundits say that if the GOP takes over one or both chambers of Congress, gridlock will ensue. At least one insider agrees — Utah Rep. Rob Bishop, vice chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, The Hill reports
With President Barack Obama in the White House, "The most you can expect is two years of good old-fashioned gridlock," if Republicans win, he told students at Utah State University, according to a report by the university's paper, the Utah Statesman.
Some Republicans are eager for a fight.
"Look, there will be no compromise on stopping runaway spending, deficits, and debt,” Indiana Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said last week.
“There will be no compromise on repealing Obamacare. There will be no compromise on stopping Democrats from growing government and raising taxes."
