RNC Mock Infomercial Slaps Hillary as Financially Out of Touch

A mock infomercial released by the Republican National Committee takes a stinging swipe at Hillary Clinton’s sky-high speaking fees and her "dead broke" faux pas.

The Washington Free Beacon reports the one-minute video – narrated by the RNC's Mike Mears, who channels the late TV pitchman Billy Mays – was released Thursday on the RNC-run PoorHillaryClinton.com site, which hammers the former first lady for saying she was "dead broke" when she and President Bill Clinton left the White House in 2001.

In the video, Mears addresses groups looking to hire speakers for their events "who are tired of easy-going, low-hassle keynote lecturers."

"For the low, low price of $2,777 per minute – that’s just $46 per second! – You, yes, you can promote Hillary Clinton as your next featured guest!" he adds.

Story continues below video.

"Hillary Clinton thinks she’s ‘dead broke,’ but she earns more in one speech than nearly 90 percent of all Americans earn in an entire year," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement, International Business Times reports, referring to the former secretary of State's interview with ABC News last June before the release of her memoir, "Hard Choices."

"Not only is she willing to charge cash-strapped universities a quarter-million dollars for a speech, but she also has a long list of demands, everything from elaborate food spreads to chartered jets," he adds. "This is just one more reminder that Hillary is out of touch, and we need to keep her out of the White House."

Clinton, polling well among voters, has not yet publicly announced a White House bid.
