President Donald Trump continued his attacks Thursday on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for the Obamacare repeal debacle, but declined to say whether he should step down.

"I said, 'Mitch, get to work, and let's get it done,'" Trump told reporters at his golf resort in Bedminster, N.J., with Vice President Mike Pence. "They should have had this last one done.

"They lost by one vote.

"For a thing like that to happen is a disgrace," Trump said. "And, frankly, it shouldn't have happened.

"That I can tell you, it shouldn't have happened."

Trump has been attacking the six-term Kentucky Republican on Twitter since Wednesday, first citing Obamacare in response to McConnell's comments to a local Rotary Club that the president had "excessive expectations" regarding his agenda.

Earlier Thursday, the president tweeted for McConnell to "get back to work" and address healthcare, along with tax reform and infrastructure.

"I just want him to get repeal and replace done," Trump told reporters in Bedminster. "I've been hearing repeal and replace now for seven years.

"All I hear is repeal and replace. And, then, I get there, and I said: 'Where's the bill? I want to sign it, first day.'

"And they don't have it," Trump said.

He noted Republicans have voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act many times over the past seven years — most recently in 2015 — but President Barack Obama vetoed it.

"They never had a president, so it didn't matter," Trump said.

"So, I say very simply, 'Where is repeal and replace?' Now I want tax reform and tax cuts."

However, when reporters asked whether McConnell should resign, Trump only told them to ask should the majority leader fail to get several legislative items passed.

"If he doesn't get repeal and replace done, and if he doesn't get taxes done — meaning cuts and reform — and if he doesn't get a very easy one to get done — infrastructure — if he doesn't get them done, then you can ask me that question," Trump said.

"What is that, a yes or a no?" a reporter shouted.

"You can ask me the question," the president responded. "That means ask me that question.

"Let's hope he gets it done."
