RNC Chief Priebus: We Want to Face Hillary in November

The head of the Republican National Committee said Friday he would rather his party face Hillary Clinton in the presidential election than Bernie Sanders.

Reince Priebus made the remark during an interview on CNN's "Wolf."

"I'm much more comfortable — and I think everyone that's analyzed this knows that Hillary Clinton is in the ditch," Priebus told Wolf Blitzer. "We don't know how far in the ditch she's going to go, but she's not doing well. She's lost seven out of eight contests, I believe. Maybe it's eight out of nine. She's not winning, she's not popular, unfortunately for her she's not likeable."

Blitzer then pointed out Clinton's leads in the delegate vote count and national polls.

"I'd rather run against Hillary Clinton because she's defined, she's not liked, and in a popular cultural vote in America, that's a really important question," Priebus replied.

According to Real Clear Politics, Clinton and Sanders are nearly even in major national polls — Clinton holds a 47.2-46 edge in the average.

Clinton's email scandal has also haunted her on the campaign trail, and recent polls showed she has poor favorability ratings nationwide.
