Voters remain split on grading President Donald Trump as he nears his first 100 days in office with 39 percent giving him an "A" or "B," 17 percent a "C" and 37 percent giving him a "D" or "F," according to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll.

Here are the highlights from the survey's report card:

  • On fighting terrorism — 49 percent gave Trump either an "A" or "B," 15 percent a "C" and 29 percent a "D" or an "F."
  • On draining the swamp — 24 percent gave him either an "A" or "B," 15 percent a "C' and 37 percent a "D" or an "F."
  • On immigration — 39 percent gave him an "A" or "B," 14 percent a "C" and 40 percent a "D" or "F."
  • On healthcare — 25 percent gave him an "A" or "B," 19 percent a "C" and 47 percent a "D" or an "F."
  • On the economy — 39 percent gave him an "A" or "B," 19 percent a "C" and 33 percent a "D" or an "F."

"Republicans are inclined to give him good grades on his performance in office so far — mostly A's and B's. Democrats are tougher in their assessments — mostly D's and F's…, Steven Shepard writes for Politico.

Here is how the rest of the poll breaks down:

  • 48 percent say they "strongly approve" or "somewhat approve" of Trump's job performance, while 45 percent disapprove.
  • 44 percent believe Trump's performance as president will get better, while 30 percent say it will get worse and 16 percent believe it will stay the same.
  • 30 percent graded Republicans' performance in Congress with either an "A" or "B," 20 percent with a "C" and 40 percent with a "D" or "F."
  • 26 percent gave Democrats in Congress an "A" or "B," 25 percent a "C" and 38 percent a "D" or "F."
  • 47 percent say the nation is headed in the right direction, compared to 53 percent who say it is on the wrong track.

The poll surveyed 1,992 registered voters from April 13-15. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
