Democratic voters aren't ready to ditch House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll.

Among Democratic voters in the poll:

  • Pelosi should stay: 41 percent.
  • Pelosi should go: 27 percent.
  • No opinion: 31 percent.

Among all voters, not just Democrats, over 40 percent believe Pelosi should exit her post.

  • Pelosi should go: 43 percent.
  • Pelosi should stay: 26 percent.
  • Don't know or no opinion: 30 percent.

Pelosi's favorability rating among voters overall is the second-worst, behind only President Donald Trump (who is 48 percent unfavorable in the poll.)

  • Pelosi unfavorable: 46 percent.
  • Pelosi favorable: 31 percent.

Looking at the poll through party affiliation shows that Democrats are more favorable toward Pelosi.

Democrats on Pelosi:

  • Favorable: 49 percent.
  • Unfavorable: 25 percent.

Republicans on Pelosi:

  • Favorable: 21 percent.
  • Unfavorable: 63 percent.

Independents:

  • Favorable: 20 percent.
  • Unfavorable: 52 percent.

Few Democratic voters place blame on Pelosi for Democrat defeats. Only 11 percent of Democrats in the poll blame Pelosi for the Democrats' loss of control of the House of Representatives in 2010, and 13 percent believe she is "very responsible" for Democrat Jon Ossoff's loss in Georgia's special election, according to poll results.

Republicans appear to have a stronger opinion about Pelosi than Democrats do, according to Kyle Dropp, Morning Consult co-founder and chief research officer.

"A common argument is that fervent Republican opposition to Pelosi is more potent than her lukewarm Democratic support," Dropp said.

Dropp noted poll results in which voters cited a "very" strong opinion:

  • Democrats who are "very" favorable of Pelosi: 16 percent.
  • Republicans "very" unfavorable of Pelosi: 49 percent.

The poll was conducted from June 22 to June 24 by surveying 1,994 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
